The Board of Directors

The Child Enrichment Center (CEC) is an outreach ministry of Gonzalez United Methodist Church and is administered by a director and assistant director.  In an effort to maintain the highest quality program possible, a Board of Directors is appointed by the church.  The Board of Directors controls all matters of policy and budget.  The purpose of the board is to work cooperatively for the benefit of both the church and the center to ensure that each child receives the very best care and education while attending the CEC.

Parent Manual

Our Purpose “Our purpose is that they (children) may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:2-3)  May we as a church bring Him honor and glory through the love and care of His children!   Our Goals It is our goal to serve families within the community by establishing a child enrichment center that:

  • Provides a safe and secure environment in which children can grow and learn.

  • Instills a sense of self worth and self-confidence in each child.

  • Stimulates spiritual, educational and physical growth.

  • Encircles children with the love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Our Philosophy “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are our reward.” Psalms 127:3 – Children are indeed a gift from the Lord, a gift to be valued and nurtured! Gonzalez United Methodist Church recognizes the importance of the formative years in the emotional, physical, spiritual and educational development of young children.  We believe that children are precious in His sight, therefore it is our desire to provide an enrichment center for children that will lay a foundation in both faith and knowledge.  We believe that traditional family roles should be taught as instituted by God to enhance moral/spiritual values. We are committed to growing children in the sound teaching of God’s word, to nurturing children in His love, and to encouraging children in their personal relationship with Jesus. We seek to provide an atmosphere that stimulates learning through play, exploration, self-expression, observation, problem-solving and loving instruction.
